What has happened to the DDAS Juniors.
The society has plenty of registered youngsters, we’ve had excellent prizes over the last few years, but we’ve seen a serious decline in youngsters booking in for matches. WHY.
Is it the timing of the matches.
Is it a problem getting to and from the venues.
Do you think you’re not good enough.
Is it your equipment.
All of the above can be able to be solved within reason. We can change timings easily. Transport could be sorted one way or another. Your skill level can only
improve with practise and challenges. We have a certain amount of equipment we can loan, give away, or obtain from various sources.
Where should we go with trying to get you fishing and experiencing the different types of waters and conditions as well as methods of fishing.
One current suggestion, from the committee, is to do a series of fishing ‘teach ins’ at different venues with the help of some of the match anglers giving pointers and tips. Is this the way to go How about some feedback Could be from you the youngsters or the parents or a volunteer angler – anything could be of use.
When would be a good time to do a session with the youngsters Well, myself, Dave ‘Dobsy’ Beadnell-Smith and Paul ‘Whisky’ Haigh are thinking of trying something late on a Saturday morning until say 4.00 o’clock. What do you think Please get in touch.
