The Season
Open all year round for day fishing (‘Upper’) and day/night fishing, 48hrs max in one swim (‘Lower’)
Both lakes will be closed for the first full week in January each year.
Constraints
Check the fishery notice board at both lakes before fishing for current rules and regulations.
Directions and Location
Exit Dorchester onto the ‘old Sherborne Road’ (at the bottom of hill, behind County Hall), stay on this road for approx 9.5 miles, turn right at the sign for Buckland Newton (top of Revels Hill). Carry on down the Hill for 1 mile. Take the 2nd Right towards Buckland Newton (B3143). Follow this road for approx 500 metres, turn left onto Castle Lane (opposite the pink coloured house), follow this road for approx half a mile. At the white painted signpost for Bookham:-
1. For ‘Sharnhill Green Upper’:-Turn right, after 300 metres, turn left, follow the track, park in the bay provided just past the gate to the lake, on the right.
Please do not park on the track or verge on the lake side.
2. For ‘Sharnhill Green Lower’:-Stay on Castle Lane for 150 metres, turn left into ‘Sharnhill Green Business Park’,
LEAVE THE GATE AS FOUND, (if required, unlock the gate using the combination lock under the protective cover using the number provided) drive thru the yard, park in the car park provided (marked yellow) at the end of the units, or,
AT YOUR OWN RISK, drive down the hill to the lake following the fence line (as shown on the attached map), park to the left of the gate (marked yellow) at the lake.
