The Fishing

North bank only - commencing one field upstream of Wool Manor. The field between the old and new road bridges and downstream of the new bridge to the fence line. Access to the upstream section is through the farmyard near the manor. Total length approx 1600 yards

Tips!

Use stick float tactics, 2BB to 6BB, depending on the water flow and wind conditions. Otherwise, ledger rigs or maggot feeder.

White/red maggot & sweet corn proven to be the most successful bait for the Grayling. Maggot for the Dace. Try bread flake and punch for the Big Roach.

Directions and Location

Worgret Hill is on the A352 at about 1/2 a mile before Wareham and 4 miles after Wool. Access is straight off the A352 onto a narrow gravel track. After 400yds the track goes under the railway bridge and joins another track at right angles. Park on the left side of the track (do not obstruct the track), there is room for 4 or 5 cars.

Note: Great care must be taken when returning onto the A352 because visibility is not good and the traffic is often going fast
