C&S Locksmiths WL2 - Warmwell - 29th Jan 12
Match Report entered 01 February 2012 at 12:28 by Steve Sudworth
Thirteen....unlucky for some but not Andy Miller on Kingfisher lake at Warmwell on Sunday. Actually it was permanent peg 16, but was 13 on the day!
Having fed his main lines he got off to a flying start by catching 2 early carp dobbing bread to near bank vegetation at 13 and 14 metres while the lines settled. Alternating between two 13 metre pellet and groundbait lines and a 6 metre caster line he caught consistently through the match to weigh 50lb 8oz of carp, skimmers and roach to win.
Seasoned (some might say old) campaigner Terry Green took second place with 29lb 8oz consisting of four decent carp caught on 0.08mm line and backed up with silver fish from peg 4 on the back arm.
Overall, the venue fished well and half the field weighed in over 20lb each with only one decent skimmer between the following weights. Not bad for a lake that averages less than 3 feet deep on a cold still day. Best of the rest were Kev Green with 29lb 6oz, Chris Watson 27lb 5oz, and Steve Sudworth 27lb 4oz.
Next match is at Shillingstone on the 19th February...present weather conditions permitting.
