Work required on new lakes before opening.....

News Item entered 20 February 2010 at 20:45 by Steve Sudworth

The work that needs to be done on the 2 new lakes before they are open to members will commence very soon.
A parking area at one of the lakes needs to be created before we can allow members to use it. The work required will begin at the begining of March & is expected to take only a few days, we will then open up that lake, the one in the attached photo, to DDAS members...watch this space.

The other lake, only half a mile away, will not be open until at least Mid April. There is some safety work that needs to be done at this lake & we cannot start this work until late March or early April. IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT, Im sure of it.
The 2 lakes are within a couple of miles of our Court Barn Farm lake at Buckland Newton.
The really good news, for the bivvy boys, is that the bigger of the two lakes will be open on a 24hr basis...at all times, there will be some restrictions, but only along the lines of anglers only being allowed in one swim for a maximum 48hr period. The full rules & regs will be displayed at both of the lakes...please read & abide by them at all times.

The 1st and 2nd peg at Luckfield lake have had some repairs made to them in the past few weeks...they have been shored up, back filled and levelled off to prevent further errosion of the bank. Members will also notice that the hedgerow in the adjoining field behind these swims has been cut back to the fence line. Reminder...PLEASE TAKE ALL YOUR LITTER HOME, a very small minority still think I will take it home for them....BE WARNED.....we will not hesitate to BAN anyone who is caught discarding any litter, at any DDAS water. Thank you to all who always take their litter home. RESPECT.
