For the first time since the Covid lockdown and subsequent social distancing measures, Dorchester and District Angling Society was able to gather its members together on the 6th of April at the Weymouth Sea Angling HQ for our first physical AGM/presentation evening since 2019. The meetings have been conducted online in the interim, but it doesn’t compare to being able to come together to report to the members present all of the events of the year. Reports from the membership, the treasury, juniors, as well as work parties, charity events, and news of our new fishery at Silverlake were all presented. Cathy Gilpin from the Mosaic charity that supports bereaved children was presented with a cheque for £500 raised by donations from the club membership. The evening was also a chance to celebrate the achievements of our trophy winners from the previous year for both senior and junior anglers. Our membership will renew on the 1st of June.
