River Works 1 Completed:

Lovely day at Hanford Farm (river Stour) for the working party today.  Between the 8 of us, we managed to clear 15 swims & dig out a level clear 2mts sq area in all of them. ‘Massive’ thanks to those who came along to help, very much appreciated!  Managed to disturb a large wasps nest in one of the swims… it looked like Gary Biles & Graham had gone a round with Mike Tyson afterwards (stung under their eyes 🙁) … they carried on grafting regardless!!! 👏🏼 The day ended ‘wetting a line’ for an hour in peg 2 (upstream end) and it paid off for your membership secretary (Paul Haigh) who managed to bank a lovely Chub at around 3lb 8oz, see attached photo (using my gear I might add 😉), I had a few roach & chublets on the waggler… a lovely end to a great day. It’s beautiful up there.. definitely worth a trip, but not this Sunday as it’s the first Autumn Club match on that section (very much looking forward to it 🎣).
