Reference: Junior members inclusion in Senior members competitions
16 October 2025

Dear Members,

Following recent instances of miscommunication, misunderstanding & misinterpretation, the committee wishes to clarify the current rules and regulations regarding Junior member participation in Senior angling competitions.

Please note that a small number of amendments will take immediate effect and remain in place until the conclusion of the 2025–26 Society year:

1.    Participation: DDAS Junior members are permitted to enter Senior angling competitions at the same match entry fees as Senior members. *NO CHANGE*

2.    Prizes and Awards: Junior members are eligible to receive any prize monies and society trophies awarded for competition wins or runner-up placements. *NO CHANGE*

3.    League Points: Juniors will be awarded league points earned in any points-based competition. *Amended from the previous rule agreed in 2017*

4.    Booking Procedure: Juniors are no longer required to wait until the Thursday before a competition to book their place. Previously, priority was given to Senior members due to limited spaces at smaller venues. *Minor change*

5.    Competition Conduct: All Junior members must adhere to both society and Senior match rules, including the requirement to bait, hook, play, and land their own fish. Additionally, any Junior member under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian for the duration of the match. *NO CHANGE*

6.    General Compliance: All other rules and regulations outlined in the DDAS Members Handbook remain in effect at all times. *NO CHANGE*

Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
The DDAS Chairman and Committee
